Field Trip Reminder

This is just a reminder that the field trip is tomorrow. Your child should bring a bagged lunch to school. I encourage everyone to get to school on time because we will be leaving at around 8:30. Thank you for all your support.

Homework for 12-17-09

Your child received a book report form today to work on over the winter break. Additionally, I am requesting each child read four different newspaper, magazine, or online articles. Write a brief summary of what was read. Include the author, date of publication, and title of newspaper, magazine, or website. Also include an opinion or thoughts on what was read. These assignments are due January 4, 2010. Have a wonderful Holiday Season.

Unit 2 Review

The students have finished unit 2 in the reading series. There will be no new story to read this week. We will be spending the week reviewing concepts from the second unit. The students will have a test on the vocabulary and spelling words on Thursday.

Spelling Test

I have graded and recorded today's spelling test in the grade book. Your child has been instructed to bring it home.

Unit 4 Math Test

I have graded and recorded the scores for unit 4 math test in the grade book. A part of the home work for this weekend will be to correct all mistakes made on the test. If your child finishes all the corrections on the test, half credit for the questions missed will be added back to the final test score. For example: a child receives a score of 32 out of 36 on the test. If he corrects his mistakes and returns the corrections with the test, he will receive two of the points back for a score of 34 out of 36. Thus changing his final grade of 89% to 94%.
Please return the original test along with the corrections on a separate piece of paper by 12-15-09 to receive credit.
