Homework for 9-29-09
Tonight's homework is to write each spelling word in a sentence. The students have a math test tomorrow. I have made a practice test for them to complete for homework. We have gone over the skills in class. I encourage you to go over the practice test with your child and discuss the skills on the homework sheet.

Homework for 9-24-09
Your child was given a book report form today. This book report is due on 10-02-09.
Reminder for 9-25-09
September 25, 2009 is a professional development day. The students have the day off from school.
Grades for 9-24-09
The students in room 200 have taken their spelling and reading test. I have graded the tests and have inputted the grades in my grade book online. I encourage you to look at your child's grades in the grade book. I have passed back the tests to the children and they were instructed to bring them home.

Homework for 9-23-09
Tonight's homework will be to write the spelling words in alphabetical order. The students also have to complete home link 1.11. The first section on the home link page which asks to use the Student Reference Book, may be skipped. The students may finish the other exercises on the page.
Additionally, the reading and spelling test will be on 9-24-09. I have reviewed the test questions with the children. I encourage you to read the story with your child and go over the main highlights. I think it would be beneficial to give a mock spelling test at home to prepare for the test on Thursday.
I would also like to mention that book reports are due on Thursday as well.

Reading and Spelling Test

Homework for 9-17-09
Tonight's homework is to study for the reading and spelling test. The reading test will consist of multiple choice questions that ask about the meaning of the vocabulary words and highlights from the story. I will have read the test and gone over the answers today as well as review the spelling words. I will also reread the test with the students again on Friday. I encourage giving a mock spelling test at home and rereading the story with your child. I have instructed the students to take the reading book home today. Please make sure your child returns the book to school on Friday because they will be able to use the book while taking the test.
